Community & Conservation

Take part in club events, work parties and conservation projects that help maintain hides, access routes and habitats. Membership supports the long-term care of the marshes and strengthens the club community.

Become Part of the Association

Rockland Wildfowlers Association welcomes applications from individuals who share a passion for traditional wildfowling, conservation and responsible marsh management within the Norfolk Broads. Whether you are an experienced wildfowler or new to the sport, the club offers the opportunity to become part of a friendly and knowledgeable community built around respect for the countryside and the traditions of the marsh.

We are currently accepting applications for membership. As a BASC affiliated club, annual membership includes BASC membership as part of the subscription. Existing BASC members may also be able to reclaim their BASC joining fee directly from BASC, helping reduce the overall cost of joining the Association.

Membership Fees & Applications

Annual membership fees are £250, which includes BASC membership, together with a one-off joining fee of £40. Junior membership is available at £45 per year and also includes BASC membership.

Application forms are available for both online and offline completion. Applicants will normally be invited to attend a club meeting where they can meet the committee and be introduced to existing members before progressing through the membership process.

Joining Process & Payment Options

Following acceptance, applicants will complete a simple quarry recognition test before being permitted to shoot unaccompanied. Most applicants achieve the required standard easily through previous experience or basic preparation. Guidance and support are available where needed, and retesting can be arranged if necessary. Membership becomes active once all fees have been paid.

The Association also offers a standing order payment scheme to help spread the cost of membership throughout the year. Monthly payments begin in June and continue across the year so that the following season’s membership is fully paid in advance. Members using this scheme also benefit from securing membership at the previous year’s rate should fees increase. The current standing order payment rate is £20.83 per month.
